My report on Vampires

Different cultures have different legends but most cultures have a legend about Vampires. Today we have movies and books like : Twilight, Van Helsing, Dracula now we have all these things to go back on but sometimes they alter things to fit for stories. I have to honestly say that I’ve always wondered what is the history of Vampires?... Did you know that the oldest vampire legends are Babylonian and Sumerian. Was the first vampire a boy or a girl? According to one legend the first vampire might have been a female. Some people believed that there are a type of female demon called the Lilu that would go into the villages and kill the women and the children by sucking their blood. Are there things that people accuse of vampirism ? Yes. Firstly there is a medical condition called Porphyria that is blamed for vampirism just because the effects of it is :         Pale skin, Sensitivity to light, receding gums (which makes the teeth look larger ) , Severe Anemia ( cure for aging )which may include the drinking of blood. Secondly in the  17th century lived a countess of Bathony in Hungary  was alleged to have bathed in and drank the blood of servant girls. What do they look like : pale skin . Sharp teeth, and sometimes can have red eyes. Sometimes they can shape shift into wolves, bats, and clouds of mist .According to the myth of the Aswang of Philippines while fully engorged with blood can mascaraed its self as a pregnant woman. These creepy creatures of the night are thankfully a myth. But just for noow at night I will keep an extra eye out.
